International Projects
1972-80
An extensive project to document photographically the decline of steam locomotion, also addressing the sociological implications brought about by this evolution in technology. The project concentrated on the following countries:

1980 India, Pakistan
1989
Photographed in Japan and USA.
1992
Pakistan and Afghanistan documented the operations of the International Committee of Red Cross, concentrating on I.C.R.C. activities concerned with the Afghanistan War. (Supported by a Research Grant from Griffith University).
1993
Malawi, Mozambique and Somalia. This project was supported by a Research Grant from Griffith University and with the cooperation of the following organizations -

1994 - 95
Documented the operations of the Thai Red Cross, concentrating on the HIV/Aids programs of the Red Cross.
1995
Chechnya (Russian Federation), under the auspices of the International Committee of Red Cross. The purpose was to concentrate on ICRC activities concerned with the Chechnyan conflict. (The project was supported by a Research Grant from Griffith University).
1996
Chechnya (Russian Federation), under contract to the International Committee of Red Cross. This mission continued the documentation of ICRC activities concerned with the Chechnyan conflict. (Supported by a Research Grant from Griffith University).
1997
Contracted to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to produce Photographs for the World Disasters Report [1998 ]. This publication has a worldwide distribution. Commissioned to photograph in the following countries:
• India
• Jordan
• Colombia
• Peru
(This project was supported by a research grant from Griffith University).
1999
Western China, Inner Mongolia, documented the last operational mainline steam locomotives. Assisted by a research grant from Griffith University.
2000
Academic studies detachment [ASP] a 14-week international photographic project that addressed;
1. Mexican culture
2. The documentation of four Ipswich communities in the following geographical locations, Australia,
Jamaica, U.S.A (2) and the UK
2001 Manchuria, Northern China documented remote Forest Railways.
2002 Western China, documented heavy industrial sites and operational steam trains.
2003 Completed the Ipswich project, documenting the Ipswich community in Jamaica, supported by a grant
from The Ipswich Art Gallery.
Photographed (street photography) in Cuba, Athens (Greece) and Paris (France).
2005
Documented the environmentally disastrous Seamangeum reclamation project in South Korea. (supported by an ASP research grant from Griffith University).
2006
Re visited the Seamangeum reclamation project in South Korea.
2007
Re visited the Seamangeum reclamation project in South Korea.
2008
Re visited the Seamangeum reclamation project in Soutt Korea. ( supported by an ASP research grant from Griffith University).
2010 - 2012
The Centenary of World War 1, this project was begun in 2007 and included images from The Western Front, Gallipoli and Australia. A major publication, Memories in Place: the centenary of WW1 was published by the State Library of Queensland in 2013.
